Khayrallah Center releases database of Arab American newspapers

We are pleased to announce that The Khayrallah Center for Lebanese Diaspora Studies has released the public beta of the Arabic Optical Character Recognition project. The database provides full and open access of Arab American newspapers published in the US between 1894 and 1960 to the general public and researchers.

This is a major breakthrough in the field of digital humanities and Arabic language, and they will continue to improve on the capabilities to make it the largest depository of searchable archival Arabic text.
