Faculty Events & Lectures
- On November 14, Dr. Xiaolin Duan, gave a talk on her research at UNC Carolina Asian Center. Her talk was called “Three Cities of the Early Modern Pacific: Connections and Conflicts between the Ming Dynasty and the Spanish Empire.”
- On November 21, we honored and celebrated Dr. Nancy Mitchell at her retirement reception. Dr. Mitchell served on our faculty for thirty years and is the author of the award winning book, Jimmy Carter in Africa: Race and the Cold War as well as The Danger of Dreams: German and American Imperialism in Latin America, 1895-1914 (1999). Dr. Mitchell is a brilliant scholar who will be missed by staff, students and faculty of the History department.
