History MA Alum, Jordan Brady ’23, Admitted to PhD Program
Congratulations to History MA graduate, Jordan Brady ’23, who has just accepted a position in the PhD program in Ancient History in the Classics department at the University of Cincinnati.
Since Jordan graduated, he has been traveling as well as taking weekly Hebrew classes at a local synagogue. He chose the University of Cincinnati because they have a large, international Classics department with fantastic resources. Says Jordan, “Their John Miller Burnam Classical Library is considered one of the best Classics libraries in the world.”
Jordan will continue studying the Hellenistic period. He plans to research how dynastic ideology was developed, deployed, and experienced in urban spaces, particularly in the Seleucid and Ptolemaic empires. Once he has his PhD, he hopes to work in academia as a professor.
Jordan completed his thesis, “City of Thunder: Numismatics, Space, and Civic Identity in Seleucia-Pieria” under the direction of Dr. Tate Paulette
