Learn About “Ancient DNA” with History Alumna Elizabeth Jones, ’10 at Book Launch Event

We are pleased to announce that History Honors alumna, Elizabeth Jones, ’10 has just published a book, “Ancient DNA: The Making of a Celebrity Science.” The History Department is co-sponsoring a book launch and interview with Jones which will take place on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 form 4:30-5:30PM at the Fishbowl Forum at DH Hill Jr. Library.

“Ancient DNA” tells the story of how the discipline of recovering genetic material from long-dead organisms, once the stuff of science fiction, has evolved over time and become reality. Jones will discuss her book as well as talk with Dr. Martha Burford Reiskind about her path from undergraduate history major to science historian and author.

Elizabeth Jones works as a Cretaceous Creatures Coordinator at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Science and is a Postdoctoral Researcher in Biologic Sciences at NC State. More detailed information about the event and book can be found here.
