2015 NC State Graduate Student History Conference
Graduate students from across the United States joined NC State University to present research at the 11th Annual Graduate Student History Conference on March 28, 2015.
Sponsored by the History Graduate Student Association and the History Department at NC State, this year’s conference featured fourteen panels on diverse fields in history, including the Cold War, the American South, Collegiate Sports, Art & Identity, two panels on Ancient History, and many more. Graduate Students from as far away as Hawaii joined nine of our own in presenting. Notable faculty from NC State and the Triangle area provided comments for the panelists.

In a special In Memoriam panel, NC State graduate students and alumni celebrated the lives of two faculty members who recently and unexpectedly passed away this spring. History Department Chair and Professor Jonathan Ocko died on January 22, 2015 and Professor Walter Jackson died on February 20, 2015. Professor David Gilmartin moderated this moving panel, in which current and former students reflected on the passion, leadership, and generosity of our beloved faculty members.
