Bachelor of Science in History (LSH)
The Bachelor of Science (LSH) degree offers the student the opportunity to integrate a broad base in science and mathematics and a specialized study in one area of science and technology with the History discipline. The BS degree offers a way for students to get both the analytical and writing skills that come from a history major and the technical proficiency that comes with coursework in science and engineering. This combination is very helpful in a wide variety of careers, including law, business, and public policy. This degree is particularly well suited for students transferring into history from a science of engineering major.
The degree requires:
- 27 hours of history course work, including the 6 hours required of all College of Humanities & Social Science major
- At least 4 other courses at the 400 level
- The senior seminar (Hi 491)
The sophomore seminar (Hi 300) is highly recommended but not required.
