The purpose behind this project is to provide Middle and High School teachers with content and tools for teaching their students about the Middle East from analytical and reflective perspectives. This is the second workshop in a series that were initiated in September 2005. The first workshop focused on the physical and cultural geography of the Middle East. This particular workshop will focus on current issues in the Middle East, especially as they pertain to the relationship between the US and the region. Together we will explore questions about 9/11, Islam and Islamism, and the conflicts in the region today.
