Courses
Courses cover a range of geo-temporal and thematic specializations, including African, Asian, European, Latin American, Middle Eastern, and United States history as well as the history of law and political culture, the history of race and ethnicity, the history of women and gender, intellectual history, the history of religions, the history of labor and labor movements, the history of frontiers, and the history of science, technology, and the environment.
Undergraduate courses numbered in the 200s are designed specifically as survey-level classes, open to a wide range of students. Courses at the 300 and 400 levels are more restricted, intended for history majors and other specialized students.
Graduate courses are numbered in the 500s and 600s. Under certain circumstances, a graduate student may take a 400-level course.
